Mexico initiates the extension of compensatory quota review for importing medium and thick plates from China

It is reported that a document from the Mexican government stated that Mexico has officially launched a review on extending the compensatory quota for imports of medium and thick plates from China. This policy was officially launched in October 2014, increasing tariffs by 33.98%. This regulation applies to all steel plates imported from China, with the specific customs code as follows: 7208.51.17208.51.027208.51.037208.52.017225.40.01722540.02.
According to the Federal Register of Mexico (DOF), the Mexican Economic Secretariat (SE) will investigate the prices of medium and thick plates imported from China between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019. During the review period, the original compensatory quota measures will continue to be implemented.
